Last weekend I had my baby shower and the day turned out just as beautiful as I had imagined! My vision was a summer citrus theme with lots of bright color for babygirl. Very different than my bridal shower, right?! With lots of help from family and friends, it came to life so perfectly! It was definitely a special day surrounded by so many of my favorite people to remember forever.
The shower was held on Walnut Grill’s outdoor patio. I really wanted a more relaxed feel with an overhead covering for shade and in the case of rain. The Bethel Park location is newer and surrounded by lots of green so we went with that.
We hired out for florals – Steel City (who did our wedding!) created the centerpieces and provided us bulk stems for the bud vases. The night before the shower my mom, sister, and I sliced up oranges, lemons, and grapefruits and lined champagne glasses with them to tie in the citrus theme. Side note for anyone who is considering replicating this: it did not attract any flies or bees because the fruit was submerged completely in the water. My original idea was to have fruit half sliced throughout the venue but we were worried about bugs so we vetoed it.
My mother-in-law was on duty for the dessert table which was a hit as expected! She always goes above and beyond with her sweets for guests and does such a great job of displaying it! This is who she used for the adorable custom Little Cutie cookies.
I will link up all the other details to everything that I can further down in this blog post!
