Can someone please tell me how we ended up at the end of July? …I mean summer always passes in the blink of an eye but this summer especially.
Maybe it’s because of my travels or maybe it’s just me being dramatic – either way, I decided to create a summer bucket list in my iPhone notes list a few weeks ago. Some of the activities are Pittsburgh-based but others are definitely ideas for anyone. How juvenile am I, right? If we’re being honest, I still enjoy my summers and wish they didn’t end just as much as I did when I was a kid in school. I know most of you can relate! Here’s my semi-adult/semi-childish summer bucket list… I better get busy.
Go to a concert- Go to an amusement park (Kennywood, Cedar Point)
- Hit up the new food truck park
- Host an end of summer low country boil with friends/family
Make a bonfire- Go to a local carnival
- Rooftop happy hour
- Rent kayaks on the river
Go to the drive-in moviesSee the ocean- Lots of outdoor brunches
- Go for a boat ride
Watch fireworks- Farmer’s Market
Be more activeHost a 4th of July BBQGather fresh blooms- Go to a Pirate’s baseball game
- Plant an herb garden
Wear more sunscreen- Get outside
- Lock away the cellphone for the day
- Go to one of the Night Markets in the city
Create a new summer cocktail- Ride bikes at Ohio Pyle
- Go camping
- Shopping at The Strip District in Pittsburgh
DIY something for the home- Have a picnic
- Play mini golf
Go to a flea market- Go to the Mt. Washington overlook at night
- Late night ice cream run (I love Page Dairy Market, Millie’s, Antney’s, and NatuRoll Creamery)
Go to the pool- Wash the car outside
- Go to the Pittsburgh Three Rivers Regatta
- Walk along the North Shore
What did I miss? What can’t you skip that’s always on your summer bucket list?
