Let’s talk a lil’ bit about dry brushing. I started brushin’ my bod a few years back when I accidentally forgot to work out for a vaca ((desperate times, desperate measures)) I will admit to being inconsistent with it over the years due to pure laziness, BUT, I can tell you, it does have results.
So your wondering ‘why should I literally brush my skin, Jenna’?…. Head on over to this article on the Huffington Post.
WHAT YOU NEED: a natural-bristle body brush with stiff enough bristles & a long handle for hard-to-reach areas
HOW MANY X A DAY: 1-2 times daily
SKIN SHOULD BE: dry
HOW TO DO THE BOD BRUSHIN’: brush in short, quick strokes towards the heart (feet to legs, arms to chest, counterclockwise on tummy, neck to back)
TIP: stay consistent. set up a time in your day that works for you
AFTER: keep your skin hydrated. Jerg’s Ultra Healing is my fav to slap on post-shower. I stay away from scented lotions because I prefer my perfume to be my only scent…otherwise it just becomes confusing to passer-byers/elevator friends.

Now I know I blogged a few weeks ago on “detox bathin 101” , but here we are again. This is another detoxification method that is easy & can also be done at home…you could even do this bath after a skin brushing sesh!
Here’s what you’ll need to mix up in your hot bath water >>
I followed the directions here for my first bath.
Make sure to >>
+ STAY HYDRATED BEFORE, DURING, AFTER
+ AIM FOR 20-40 MINUTES
+ TOO HOT? ADD COLD WATER UNTIL YOU FEEL OKAY
+ BE CAREFUL GETTING OUT- YOU MAY FEEL WEAK
+ WRAP UP IN A TOWEL AFTER TO CONTINUE THE DETOX THRU PERSPIRATION

I definitely need to indulge in some body brushing & a detox bath after tonight’s dinner.

Baah, it’s Maria, forgot to mention.
….at least you’re loyal to your brush! I’m trying to be better about it since it’s summer & legs are out in full force! Thanks for reading Maria :)
I try to dry brush as much as possible. Love how it makes my skin feel, not to mention the detoxing benefits! I also love detox baths. I do Epsom salts, baking soda and a few drops of lavender essential oils. Love the blog!

Thank you :) Detox baths won’t make me skinny but I just LOVE them. They’re so relaxing and I grossly love sweating!
Hi! A good way to wave goodbye to dead cells and toxins. Unluckily my ultra-sensitive skin could not afford a dry brushing, but I bet a normal one would benefit a lot from it and become soft and healthy.
Have a nice weekend!
