Last Minute Christmas “White Trash”

imageimageimageimageimageHellllllllooooo.

3 days until Christmas!!!– how is everyone holding up?!!

Me personally– I’ve calmed down a bit but a few days ago I was in a legitimate Christmas tizzy. I was pacing around, talking to myself, and couldn’t figure out what to do first. Between work/holiday parties/old friends in town/& shopping, Christmas really crept up fast this year. It’s actually kind of sad — I mean we all stress out over just 1 day that will be over so quickly. In the midst of the chaos, it’s easy to lack spirit (…this 50-some-degree-no-snow-weather isn’t helping either!)

On Saturday, my mom, sister, and I hit the kitchen to bake up some goodies. We don’t like to sweat over the whole cookie situation, so we kept it simple & just made our favoriteeeee cookie recipe,  Salted Caramel Chocolate Cookies (recipe here!! don’t miss it!) and whipped up some “white trash”.

Christmas procrastinators: this “white trash” will be your savior. It takes a meager 15 minutes to make and doesn’t require any kitchen skills. Plus, who doesn’t love a salty-sweet snack?

Now if you’re feeling a little cray-cray, you can make the cute little santa hats like I did for an extra special touch.

INGREDIENTS

1 bag of mini pretzels

1 box of white raisins

1 box of Rice Chex cereal

1 can of peanuts

1 bag of red & green M&Ms

2 lbs. of white chocolate

SANTA HATS INGREDIENTS

1 bag of original Bugles

Red melting chocolate (amount depends on how many you want to make)

Marshmallows

DIRECTIONS

Mix pretzels, raisins, chex cereal, and peanuts in a large bowl

Melt white chocolate on 50% heat for 1 minute, mix, then another 30 seconds-1 minute until melted

Pour white chocolate over the mixture & mix until covered

Lightly toss in M&Ms

Dry on wax paper

SANTA HAT DIRECTIONS

Melt red chocolate the same way as white chocolate (above)

Pre-hole one side of the mini-marshmallows so they will stick to the Bugles

Dip Bugles in red chocolate

Connect a marshmallow to the top of the Bugle while chocolate is still wet

Since this will probably be my last post until after X-mas, I want to wish you all a very merry, cozy, magical, happy, love-filled, safe, & food-induglent Christmas!!
